Earlier, the Founder/Convener of 260 Legacy Solidarity, Dr Amaka Ngene, said the group is a women’s group that mobilises and sensitises women at the grassroot on the need to participate and vote during the elections, support government ‘s policies and programmes as well as developments.

She added that the group looks for women who are not aligned with political parties with the aim of bridging the gap of what happened in the 2023 General elections, in which many people at the grassroots were not equipped with voter-education.

She said the group had established a strong grassroots structure, with members at the ward level across Enugu State.
Ngene said the structure would make it easier for the group to mobilise polling unit agents ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that the group already had members spread across the wards.

She said, “We have members at the ward level across the state. Getting polling unit agents during the 2027 elections will not be a problem because we have our members in every ward.”
The convener, however, stressed the need for continuous sensitisation of women at the grassroots, particularly on party symbols and the voting process.
She said the objective was to bridge the knowledge gap among voters and prevent a recurrence of mistakes recorded during the 2023 general elections.

According to her, the women needed to be adequately enlightened on how to identify party symbols and correctly cast their votes during elections.
Dr Ngene added that the group would continue to take political education and relevant information to women in the grassroots to ensure that they were adequately prepared for the 2027 elections.
She also called on the women to support and vote for the Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, saying his administration had performed well through various development projects across the state.

She urged the women to educate people at the grassroots on the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu, stressing that effective sensitisation would enable the people to have a better understanding of the Federal Government’s policies and programmes.
Dr Ngene said 260 Legacy Solidarity is also opened for men( he for she) membership, adding that it ‘s committed to mobilising women, promoting political awareness and ensuring that women were not left behind in the political and developmental processes of the state and the country.

She assured that the group would continue to work at the grassroots, engaging women across the wards and preparing them to participate actively and responsibly in the 2027 elections.
