President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Governor of Enugu State Dr Peter Mbah, declaring that Nigeria’s long-envisioned transformation is within reach with leaders of Mbah’s calibre at the helm.

Speaking during an appreciation visit by an Enugu delegation led by Governor Mbah at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Tinubu described the governor as a “transformative leader” whose bold development strides are fast redefining governance and inspiring confidence in Nigeria’s future.
“The future of this country rests on leaders with commitment, vision, and seriousness like you,” Tinubu stated, affirming that Nigeria is steadily on course toward prosperity despite prevailing challenges.
In a message laced with encouragement, the President urged Mbah to remain undeterred by critics, emphasizing focus and resilience as essential ingredients for sustained success in leadership.

“Stay focused. When you succeed and they are angry, leave them behind. We will navigate these rough waters and deliver a prosperous Nigeria,” he added.
Tinubu also assured that the Federal Government would accelerate work on critical infrastructure, particularly the long-awaited Port Harcourt–Enugu rail line, describing it as vital to unlocking economic growth in the South-East.
Earlier, Governor Mbah expressed deep appreciation for Tinubu’s inclusive leadership, noting that federal interventions in Enugu had bridged decades-old development gaps and repositioned the state for rapid growth.
He highlighted key milestones including the concessioning of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, the establishment of the South East Development Commission, and ongoing energy and road infrastructure projects.
Declaring unwavering political support, Mbah stated that the people of Enugu would stand firmly behind Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“With these transformative interventions, we will proudly stand with you on election day,” he affirmed.
The high-profile visit drew a powerful lineup of political heavyweights, military chiefs, and elder statesmen, underscoring what the President described as “one of the most remarkable moments” of his administration.
