Enugu Forest Guard seeks feedback to improve security service delivery

Enugu State Command of the National Forest Guard has called on residents to provide feedback on its operations, response to security threats and conduct of personnel, as part of efforts to improve security and service delivery across the state.

The Commander of the Forest Guard, Enugu State, Dr Akinbayo Olasoji, made the call in a Customer Service Week message he made available to Newsmen on Thursday, October 8,3026 in Enugu.

He urged community leaders, farmers, traders and other residents to share their experiences with the command.
Olasoji said the Forest Guard was responsible for helping to safeguard forests, farmlands and communities, prevent and respond to security threats, gather timely intelligence and collaborate with other security agencies to protect lives and property.

He said the command also had a responsibility to support safe access to farms and forest routes, engage communities and ensure that members of the public were treated with fairness and respect.

According to him, effective service delivery requires the command to listen to the people, understand their concerns and take action in areas requiring improvement.

He urged residents to provide commendations, complaints and practical suggestions, particularly on the visibility and accessibility of Forest Guard personnel in their communities, the speed and professionalism of responses to distress calls, and the conduct of operatives.
The commander also asked residents to identify security concerns affecting their farms, forest routes and communities, as well as suggest measures that could help the command earn greater public trust and improve its services.
He encouraged members of the public providing feedback to include the name of their community, Local Government Area, date and other relevant details to enable the command to assess and follow up on their reports.
Olasoji stressed that residents did not need to know the name of a particular operative before raising a complaint.

He advised residents to submit sensitive information, personal details and reports relating to ongoing security incidents privately through the command’s designated contact channels rather than posting such information publicly.

The commander assured residents that their feedback would inform the command’s supervision, training, personnel discipline and service improvement.
He said complaints would be assessed fairly, while commendable service by personnel would receive appropriate recognition, adding that no person should be intimidated or treated unfairly for raising a concern in good faith.

“Our duty is to serve you. Your feedback helps us serve you better,” Olasoji said, stressing that the call for feedback would continue beyond Customer Service Week.
He urged Ndi Enugu to continue supporting the Forest Guard through cooperation and vigilance, saying regular engagement between the command and communities would contribute to building safer communities and a more responsive security service.

“Residents can send feedback via telephone/WhatsApp on 07061650213 or email irokochiefhunter@gmail.com. Feedback is also welcomed through the command’s official social media platforms.
If you want, I can also make the headline more newspaper-style and punchier, for example: “Forest Guard Seeks Ndi Enugu’s Verdict on Security Operations”, he said.
