Rangers GM Amobi resigns position


General Manager of Rangers International Football Club, Amobi Ezeaku, has resigned his position as Secretary of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Club Owners Association.

He announced his resignation in a letter titled “Official Statement and Notice of Resignation,” made available on Monday which has generated reactions among football stakeholders and fans.
In the letter, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the development of professional football in Nigeria.

“Today, I formally tendered my resignation as Secretary of the Nigeria Premier Football League Club Owners Association.
“Serving in this capacity has been a profound honour and privilege. It afforded me the opportunity to work alongside visionary club owners and administrators who remain committed to the growth, development and sustainability of professional football in Nigeria.
“I am grateful to the Chairman, Dr. Okey Kpalukwu, members of the Executive Committee, and all club owners for the confidence reposed in me throughout my tenure. Together, we navigated important conversations, strengthened collaboration among clubs, and contributed to efforts aimed at advancing the Nigeria Premier Football League.
“As I take this step, I do so with a deep sense of gratitude and fulfillment. Leadership is ultimately about service, and I am thankful for the opportunity to have served.
“My resignation does not diminish my commitment to Nigerian football. I remain passionate about the game and will continue to support initiatives that promote excellence, integrity, innovation and sustainable growth within our football ecosystem.
“I wish the Association continued success in all its future endeavours and pray that it continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a stronger and more prosperous future for club football in Nigeria.
“Thank you all for the memories, the friendships, the lessons, and the shared pursuit of a better game.”
Meanwhile, Ezeaku, who has been widely praised for his achievements at Rangers, had earlier indicated that he would announce within three weeks whether he would continue in his role with the Enugu-based club.
