PM4PM mobilises 8,000 members for Mbah in Igboeze North/ South L.G.As

…….. As Onyia urges grassroots mobilisation, backs chairmanship candidates

A campaign support group, under the auspices of Progressive Movement for Peter Mbah( PM4PM) has mobilised over 8,000 members in Igboeze North and South Local Government Areas of Enugu State, declaring its readiness to work for the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah and the victory of other candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 elections.

This was made known by the Grand Patron of the Progressive Movement for Peter Mbah,Prof Chidiebere Onyia on Wednesday , September 2,2026, during the movement’s grassroot tour to Igboeze North and Igboeze South Local Government Areas of the state .

The Grand patron PM4PM,Prof Onyia, addressing supporters speaking on Governor Mbah’s developments in Enugu state, urging people to vote for APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

Speaking at the rally held at the Igboeze south Local government secretariat field, Ibagwa, the Grand patron PM4PM and Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, ,described the PM4PM as an organic and data-driven support structure created to deepen grassroots engagement for Mbah’s 2027 re-election.

In his speech the Director -General of PM4PM and , Attorney -General,Enugu State ,Osinachi Nnajieze said the movement was designed to bring together genuine supporters while working with existing party structures to communicate the administration’s achievements to the people

Nnajieze , who is also the Commissioner for Justice, Enugu state, urged residents to support the APC chairmanship candidates in the Enugu North zone, including the chairmanship candidates, Hon. Dr Chris Onyekachi Simon in Igboeze North and Ferdinand Ugwueze in Igboeze South.

Speaking also, the Strategic Director, PM4PM, Hon Sandra Gorge , who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Revenue generation and monitoring, said Professor Onyia remained committed to the movement and its grassroots mobilisation strategy, stressing that the organisation had moved beyond mere membership registration to building a structured database of supporters.

She disclosed that the movement had over 8,000 registered members in the area, with details of their locations, occupations and telephone contacts captured for effective mobilisation.
According to her, the members were being prepared for sustained grassroots engagement and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
She said, “For everyone who came out here today, we are over 8,000. These members are not just members for the sake of it. We still have their key details. We know where they are, we know who they are and what they do for a living. We have their phone numbers and contacts with which we contact them

Sandra Gorge, said the movement would continue to strengthen its structures and engage residents at the grassroots, urging members to take the message of the governor’s achievements to their communities and polling units.

She said, “This movement is a project. These projects work. Projects, defend and deliver your polling units. One messaging across the board.”
She also commended the women participating in the movement, noting that they had played significant roles in grassroots mobilisation despite receiving little recognition.

Dr Chris, Igboeze North Local Government chairmanship candidate

Speaking on his ambition, Simon said his desire to contest for the chairmanship of Igboeze North was driven by his passion for giving back to humanity and developing communities.
Simon, who described himself as the incoming chairman of the local government, said his difficult upbringing after losing his mother 23 years ago inspired his commitment to helping people in need.
He said he had provided scholarships to people in Lagos, Enugu State and other communities, while also undertaking community development projects.
The businessman-Politician disclosed that he was personally constructing a 13.5-kilometre road project valued at over N3bn.
Simon said accessibility, security and community development would be the priorities of his administration if elected.

“Government is for the people, by the people and for the people. It’s all about trust. Even if I am going to build a skyscraper, the first thing is accessibility. Let the people have access to me,” he said.
He added that he would work with Governor Mbah and the state security architecture to ensure the safety of residents.

Dr Oby Ajih,APC Woman leader,South East zone

Also speaking, the APC South-East Women Leader, Dr Oby Ajih, said the support group had established a strong presence in Igboeze North and South Local Government Areas.
Ajih described the members as organic supporters of Governor Mbah and President Bola Tinubu, saying they were not hired to attend political events.
She acknowledged the presence of opposition parties in the area but expressed confidence that the governor’s performance would earn him the support of the electorate.

Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Hon. Franklin Ogbonna,

On his part , the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Hon. Franklin Ogbonna, said the Mbah administration had addressed major challenges in the state, particularly security, education and electricity.
Ogbonna said the improved security situation had enabled residents to move freely and conduct their lawful businesses, while the administration’s investment in education and power was targeted at solving long-term development challenges.
He said Mbah’s administration was focused on making difficult decisions capable of producing lasting development rather than merely providing temporary solutions.
Ogbonna expressed confidence that the governor would secure a massive victory in the 2027 governorship election.

Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman of Igboeze south local government area, Hon Ferdinand Ugwueze commended Governor Peter Mbah ‘s gaunt developmental strides in Enugu state.

The chairman disclosed that Governor Mbah constructed 102 Smart Green schools and Type Two Primary health centre in Enugu North amongst other projects He assured total support of the people of the local government areas for the APC.

He urged the people of the state to vote for the governor and all the APC candidates. He noted that Igboeze North and South were of the same clan and always pull massive votes at Enugu state elections.

Others who spoke at the event called on members to return to their respective communities, engage voters and defend their polling units for the APC and Governor Mbah during the elections
