APC suspends Jigawa House of Reps member, Six officials over alleged anti-party activities

Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the suspension of a House of Representative member, Ibrahim Kamfani Auyo, who represents Auyo/Hadejia/Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency, and six party officials over alleged misconduct and actions deemed detrimental to the party’s unity.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Bashir Kundu, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Monday in Dutse, stating that the suspension took effect from May 31, 2026.
According to Kundu, the decision followed allegations of betrayal, internal conflict and activities capable of causing division among party members.
The controversy stemmed from a viral video recorded after Kamfani reportedly lost the APC ticket for the 2027 general election. In the footage, a large crowd of supporters was seen welcoming the lawmaker in Auyo, while some were allegedly heard chanting slogans against the party leadership and threatening to work against the APC in future elections.

“The party took this step based on allegations of betrayal of the party, causing internal conflicts, and dividing members,” Kundu said.
Other officials affected by the suspension include the State Deputy Women Leader, Aisha Adamu Auyo (popularly known as Kande); Auyo Ward Woman Leader, Yargabi Babannan Auyo; Auyo Ward Chairman, Musa Idris Zabarau; Deputy APC Chairman of Auyo Local Government Area, Ibrahim Ayama; LGA Financial Secretary, Saje Hadiyau; and Deputy Ward Chairman, Sani Abdullahi Hadiyau.
Kundu said the action was taken under the leadership of the state APC Chairman, Ahmad Garba, and was aimed at enforcing party discipline and preserving unity within the party.

“The suspension is with immediate effect. This action is part of our commitment to upholding party rules and safeguarding the unity of the party in the state,” he said..
Efforts to obtain Kamfani’s reaction were unsuccessful, as calls to his telephone line were not answered as of the time filing this report.
