MainPower announces planned power outage in parts of Enugu metropolis

MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has announced a planned power outage scheduled to take place on Sunday, 10th May, 2026, from 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m.

Head , Communications, MEDL, Emeka Ezeh in a statement made available to Newsmen Saturday in Enugu reads in parts, “the planned outage is to provide a safe working environment for our engineers to conclude work on the reconstructed Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2 tower, as well as carry out the restringing of wires.

“As a result, power supply to the following 33KV lines will be temporarily disrupted: Trans Ekulu, Thinkers Corner, Ituku Ozalla, and Ugwogo.

“Consequently, customers residing in Trans Ekulu, Emene, Thinkers Corner, Emenite, Airport, Alo Aluminium, Akpuoga, Nkwubor, Ugwuomu, Abakpa Nike, Nike Lake, Ugwogo, and surrounding areas served by the affected 33KV lines will be without electricity supply during the period of the exercise.

“We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may cause our esteemed customers and appeal for their understanding and cooperation, especially customers served by Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2 who have been without supply for some days,” Ezeh said.

Assuring that power will be restored immediately after the exercise, Ezeh said, “Power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the exercise.’.
