A Police Inspector, Dr. Obodo Paul Ikechukwu, has reportedly died following a fatal road accident allegedly involving a police convoy in Enugu State.
The late officer, an indigene of Nkpologu in Enugu State, was attached to the Operations Department of the Enugu State Police Headquarters at the time of the incident.
Although the exact circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear, sources said the inspector sustained fatal injuries after he was allegedly struck by a vehicle in a police convoy.
Dr. Obodo, who also held a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, was described by colleagues and associates as a dedicated and committed police officer whose sudden death has shocked members of the police command and his community.
As of the time of this report, the Enugu State Police Command had not released an official statement on the incident, while further details are still being awaited.
