Enugu APC united, ready for 2027- Stakeholders

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State , have lauded the state Governor, Dr Peter Mbah on his leadership style and developmental strides , and for smooth integration of old and new party members , expressing confidence that the party will be Victorious in 2027 general elections.

The stakeholders which comprised the , former APC State Chairman and outgoing Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr Ben Nwoye, the newly sworn -in State Chairman, Dr Martins Chukwunwike , the Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government and ALGON chairman, Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Market and Director General of the G7 Team, Dr Chinedu Mbah, the Igwe- elect of Mburumbu, Chief Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe, the treasurer of APC, Patrick Okoh and the Senior special Assistant to the Governor on Legislative matters, Hon Paul Nnajiofor, made that known on Thursday , while speaking with newsmen,shortly, after the swearing- in ceremony of the newly elected State chairman ,Dr. Martin Chukwunwike.

Dr Ben Nwoye, out-going APC Enugu state Caretaker committee chairman

Out going Caretaker committee chairman, Dr Nwoye said, the party had recorded a historic milestone with what he described as its first legitimate and transparent transition of leadership in the state.

According to him, the party has grown significantly through sustained stakeholder engagement across the 17 local government areas and the 260 wards in Enugu State..

He noted that the party’s democratic process had matured with the formal public swearing-in of new leaders, stressing that the transition was conducted openly before party members.

*“This is the first time the party is witnessing a legitimate transition of power. The process was done in the open, with members watching, unlike in the past1⁶;,” he said.

The stakeholders further stated that the party had become stronger through collaboration among members:⁰ from different political backgrounds, including former members of the Peoples Democratic Party and other political groups.

They stressed that the ongoing development across the state under Governor Mbah had made it difficult for opposition parties to present alternative ideas.

The newly elected and inaugurated Enugu state chairman of the APC, Dr Martins Chukwuwike, who was also the State chairman of the PDP before his deflection to the APC, told newsmen that in Enugu state, Peter Mbah is their “party”.

He commended Governor Mbah for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress,APC, aligning with the Centre.
“Yeah, we were in PDP before and our Governor thought it wise after studying the Nigerian situation and terrain , he took the right decision and moved to APC. Now, we are in APC.
“We had our elections two days ago and our people in APC unanimously elected me ,So, am the Enugu state chairman of APC .I feel highly elated . Am very happy.We will do our best.

The new APC leadership in Enugu state

On his preparedness for the 2027 general elections, Dr Chukwunwike said , “We are readily equipped. The Governor has done a lot. Things are being done in the wards.A minimum of three projects in every ward. Even though we have have less than one year to the elections ,the primaries will start next month and finish in May.
By the end of May we must have covered the primaries for general elections. By 20lth of January is the presidential election, by 6Th of February is the Governorship and House of Assembly elections. We are ready for the elections “, the state chairman said.

Continuing, Dr Chukwunwike said, ” For the task ahead , I believe that we will do our best, we are already equipped coming from PDP where we had been for 24years and the Governor had done a lot of works . There are no wards where project is not going on in Enugu state.

” At every ward , we have a minimum of three projects, we have Smart schools, heath centres and roads. While some other people are struggling to have a structure, APC already has a structure. It is serious work in progress Within a short time we will be going round our Local Governments . We believe with God our helper, we will still do what we know how best to do in Enugu state,” he said…

He advised the people of Enugu state to keep supporting Peter Mbah, saying, .”Our advice to the people of Enugu state is that they know Peter Mbah, focus on Pater Mbah. Parties are platforms to convey candidates, If you like you can say
Peter Mbah is our party because we don’t have individual candidacy in Nigeria. Tell them to focus on what Peter had done. If he had done these in 3 years, you can imagine what he would have done in five years,” the chairman said.

Dr. Chinedu Mbah

On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor and Director General of the G7 Team, Dr. Chinedu Mbah, said the group had already endorsed Governor Mbah for a second term ahead of the 2027 elections.

He described the governor’s performance as unprecedented, adding that the grassroots mobilisation structure of the G7 Team would ensure overwhelming support for the governor.

“We have endorsed the governor before now. Come 2027, he will return without stress because he has results to show the people,” he said.

Igwe-elect, Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe

Also speaking the Igwe- elect of Mburumbu community, Chief Jerry Patrick’ Onuokaibe commended the governor, Dr. Peter Mbah for infrastructural development in his area, particularly the construction of road projects linking the community.

The monarch said the development marked the first time in over 500 years that some communities in the area were witnessing such level of government presence .He added that residents of the community had resolved to give Governor Mbah overwhelming support in appreciation of the projects executed in the area.

Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government and Enugu state ALGON chairman, Hon Sydney Edeh

On his part, the chairman of Nkanu East Local Government and Enugu state ALGON chairman, Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh and other stakeholders maintained that the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, transportation, education and tourism had strengthened public confidence in the administration and positioned the APC for political dominance in the state.

He said his administration executed some projects in his local government in line with Governor Peter Mbah’s vision, and that earned him ” a vote of confidence” from the leaders. He called for continuous support for Governor Peter Mbah so that he could doore for Enugu state.

Hon.Edeh whose second term will come to an end this year, said he is readily available for any position or opportunity to serve God will provide for him in future. He thanked the people of the state for their support for Governor Mbah and to him ,asking for more support for the APC..
