US deploys more troops to Iran as Pentagon, Trump warn of more U.S. casualties


Pentagon has confirmed deployment of more troops to the Middle East l as the war between the United States and Iran entered its third day on Monday,
President Donald Trump warned thathere might be U.S. casualties are likely, describing the conflict as necessary to confront what he called a “terrorist regime.”

He condoled the families of four U.S. service members killed in an Iranian strike on an American command center in Kuwait. At least 18 others have been wounded.


Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine said the war will not be quick and acknowledged that further losses may occur as the conflict spreads across the region.
In a separate incident, three U.S. Air Force F-15E fighter jets were mistakenly shot down by Kuwait, a U.S. ally. All six crew members ejected safely and are reported to be in stable condition.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said a possible ground invasion of Iran has not been ruled out, stressing that the U.S. would go “as far as necessary” to protect its interests.
