After reviewing his credentials — including his service as a member of the 5th, 6th, and 7th National Assembly and his two-term tenure as Governor of Enugu State — the committee chairman, Senator Abubakar Bello (APC, Niger North), asked him to take a bow and leave, signifying the nominee was over qualified.

Similarly, after brief introductions, former ministers, ambassadors, and lawmakers were asked to “take a bow and leave,” in line with Senate tradition, citing their prior clearance by the Senate and extensive public service experiences.

The nominees were questioned on their understanding of Nigeria’s foreign policy, bilateral relations, and strategies for advancing the country’s diplomatic and economic interests.
