Former Governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris, has died at the age of 76.
Idris, who governed Kogi State from 2003 to 2012, died on Saturday afternoon. He assumed office in May 2003 and secured a second term following the 2007 election before handing over to Idris Wada in January 2012.

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, also mourned the former governor, describing him as a significant figure in the political history of Kogi State and the Peoples Democratic Party.
