APC flags -off Isi-Uzo Local Govt campaign, says “projects have done our campaign for us”

Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, Hon. Obiora Obeagu, says projects executed by Governor Peter Mbah’s administration have effectively taken the campaign message of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the people ahead of the September 26, 2026 local government elections.

He stated this on Tuesday during the flag-off of the Isi-Uzo Local Government Area APC campaign held at the Local Government secretariat, Ikem,.

Speaking at the rally, Obeagu highlighted the construction of roads, , Smart schools , primary healthcare centres amongst other developments in the area.

According to him, the projects were not only transforming communities but also opening up Isi-Uzo’s economic corridor and creating greater opportunities for residents.

“Our governor has done well in Isi-Uzo. He has done a lot of things. You can hear the testimonies from our stakeholders,” Obeagu said..

He added that the impact of the projects had become evident across the local government, adding that the development recorded under the Mbah administration had strengthened the APC’s campaign message.
“A lot has happened in Isi-Uzo. These projects have done our campaign for us,” he said.
Obeagu also said the local government had worked closely with the state government on development initiatives, stressing that his administration had carried the people along.
Reflecting on his four-year tenure, the chairman acknowledged that some projects were still ongoing, noting that governance was a continuous process.

“Four years is a long time but it is also a short time in terms of governance and development projects. We have partnered with the governor to do a lot in Isi-Uzo,” he said.

Speaking on the September 26 election, Obeagu said ,” APC as prepared”. He said the turnout was an indication of the party’s mobilisation across the local government.
He also dismissed allegations circulating on social media concerning alleged disruption of opposition political activities, saying they remained allegations that had not been established.
“As far as I am concerned, it is an allegation,” he said.

On his part, the Enugu State Chairman of the APC, Dr. Martins Chukwunweike, said the party was fully prepared for the September 26 local government elections.
He said the campaign was aimed at presenting the party’s chairmanship and councillorship candidates to the electorate while mobilising support across the local government.

“We are very, very prepared,” he said, adding that the party expected its candidates to participate in the election across Isi-Uzo.
He also urged residents to participate in the poll.

Speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategic Communication, Dr. Collins Ogbu, highlighted the Mbah administration’s development projects, including 268 Smart Schools, 260 primary healthcare centres and roads construction.

Ogbu said the administration’s development agenda was focused on ensuring that no community was left behind.
He also referenced the recently unveiled compendium, “A Thousand and One Reasons Why Governor Mbah Should Continue as Governor of Enugu State: Development and Governance Direction of Enugu State Three Years After,” which documents projects and achievements of the administration.

Speaking with Newsmen, the Commissioner for Environment ,Prof Sam Ugwu commended Governor Peter Mbah for his developmental strides in Enugu state and Isi-Uzo Local Government Area in particular. He highlighted the newly constructed Amechi-Idodo- Owo- Ubahu- Umualor- Ikem roads, the Smart schools, Primary health care centers and other projects.

Prof Ugwu also commended the local government chairman,Hon Obiora Obeagu for his good works in the local government, saying that he has done well. He expressed confidence that the chairmanship candidate, Brenda Ani will win the local government election because there are projects executed and Isi-Uzo Local government is one party , there is no opposition.

Other speakers at the campaign included the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Secretary, Chinedu Ani; Enugu East Senatorial candidate, Kevin Chukwu; Isi-Uzo APC chairmanship candidate, Hon. Brenda Ani; South-East APC Zonal Leader, Dr. Oby Ajih; House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga; SSA Public Communication, Kingsley Ebonyi; Special Adviser on Political Matters, Hon. Azubuike Odoh; and APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Onyebuchi Nwafor.

They highlighted projects of the state and local government administrations and urged residents to participate in the September 26 election.
