Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board ( JAMB)on Friday announced the release of 632,788 results from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted on Thursday, April 16.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the Board directed candidates to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number used during registration.
The examination body clarified that, for now, candidates can only view their scores, noting that result printing will be enabled56 at a later stage.
JAMB warned against manipulatß or falsify result messages obtained through its official channels, describing such acts as criminal offences.
“Candidates are strongly cautioned against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores with the intent to mislead others, including parents. Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence,” the statement read.
The Board disclosed that enforcement actions had already begun, revealing that two candidates and one parent were currently in custody for allegedly engaging in result falsification using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.
“Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law,” it added.
JAMB further assured that the UTME process remains ongoing, with more results to be released in batches as marking and verification continue.
