Nigeria has won a major legal victory, against the European Dynamics UK Ltd in an international arbitration, saving the country over $6.2 million (₦9.3 billion).
The dispute arose from a stalled national e-Procurement project under the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), with the contractor claiming payments for alleged project milestones and damages. But the tribunal dismissed all claims, saying the firm failed to meet contractual requirements.
Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi hailed the ruling, declaring: “It is no longer business as usual.”
BPP boss Dr. Adebowale Adedokun on his part said, : “This vendor has beaten other African countries in court, but Nigeria stood firm—and won.”
The case highlights the importance of strict oversight, proper testing, and clear milestones in government tech projects—and ensures billions are now safe for national development.
