Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and the Police Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Command, on 1st April 2026, carried out sensitization campaigns to educate members of the public on election violence and related offences, safe driving, as well as compliance with traffic regulations.
The event was held simultaneously across Area Command Headquarters, motor parks, and bus stops within various Police Divisions in the Command.
According to the police public relations officer of the Enugu state police command SP Daniel Ndukwe,in a statement he made available to Newsmen on Wednesday in Enugu, the event was part of the activities marking the celebration of National police week.
“In Enugu State will continue on Thursday, 2nd April 2026 (Day Four), with the Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, presenting cheques to families of deceased personnel of the Nigeria Police Force on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has again appreciated the citizens of Enugu State for their cooperation during the sensitization campaigns and other activities marking the Police Day, reassuring them of the Command’s unwavering commitment to serving them better while upholding their rights and dignity,” Ndukwe said..
