Enugu State Police Command has sustained its fight against illicit drugs and substance peddling. The Operatives of the command Wednesday , arrested one Musa Zuberu (male, aged 42) and recovered a large quantity of weed suspected to be marijuana from him.
The suspect was arrested on 11th February 2026 at about 1:40 p.m. by operatives of the Command attached to the Crack Tactical Squad during a routine patrol along Camp 1, Iva Valley, Enugu.

According to the police public relations officer,Enugu state police command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement made available to Newsmen on Thursday in Enugu, “A search of the suspect led to the recovery of a large quantity of weed suspected to be marijuana, including the synthetic “Canadian Loud” and “Colorado” (“Colos”) variants, as well as other quantities of suspected illicit drugs”.
Ndukwe said investigations are ongoing to apprehend his accomplices and dismantle illicit drug peddling networks across the State.
It could be recalled that the Command recently arrested five male suspects, including a dispatch rider, in separate operations and recovered large quantities of illicit drugs and substances, including tramadol, methamphetamine (locally called “Mkpuru-mmiri”), and variants of weed suspected to be marijuana.
“The Commissioner of Police reiterates the Command’s unwavering commitment to sustaining the fight against illicit drug peddling and consumption, and the crimes associated with them in Enugu State. He warns those involved in such activities to desist forthwith or be ready to face the full weight of the law”, Ndukwe said..
