APC  national appeal panel says “no petitions, no protests” in Enugu congresses 

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Appeal Panel for Enugu,  says the recently concluded ward and local government congresses in Enugu State were  peaceful and credible, adding that there were no petitions or protests from party members across the state.

Chairman the Appeal panel, Hon. Nkechi Chukwura, made this known on Monday evening while addressing Newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Enugu.

 She said the panel, after days of monitoring and consultations, found no evidence of rancour or disputes arising from the congresses.

According to her, the absence of complaints showed that the state chapter of the party had embraced unity and internal democracy.

“We have been around for the past few days and we are glad that we have not seen any rancour, protests or petitions all through our stay here in Enugu State. This has shown that the APC in the state is peaceful and things have been going on well,” she said.

The panel commended the state caretaker committee led by Dr. Ben Nwoye, as well as members of the congress and screening committees, for what it described as a smooth and transparent exercise.

The appeal panel also commended the  Governor of Enugu state, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his good works in the state recorded under three years and for providing what it termed a peaceful and enabling environment for the congresses to hold without disruption. 

The panel noted that the level of development witnessed across parts of the state during its tour reflected stable governance and unity.

Other members of the appeal committee present at the briefing included Hon. Felix Ebiliekwe, Hon. Agbamu Okieriete Gibson, Chief Vincent Omojiriemu and Comrade Bulus Gaknung.
