Ginger oil/ Make-up
Ginger oil has long been used in traditional hair care, prized for its scalp- stimulating and nourishing properties. Today, it’s enjoying a beauty revival as a “natural alternative” to harsher ingredients
Many users swear by shinier, smoother strands and reduced flaking, yet the scientific evidence around hair growth remains mixed. “People are drawn to ‘natural’ or ‘clean’ products,” says Alexis Young, MD, assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Columbia Medical Center in New York City.

“That’s part of why ginger oil is trending right now. But ‘clean’ isn’t a medical term, and not all natural products are automatically safe.” Dr. Young notes that ginger oil’s effects depend heavily on its formulation, how frequently it’s used, and individual scalp biology. “There’s limited research on ginger oil itself,” she explains. “Compared with rosemary or peppermint which have more robust data, ginger remains largely anecdotal—but its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties are promising.”

Ginger oil is a potent, highly concentrated essential oil extracted from the rhizome of the ginger plant. Due to its strength, it’s usually blended with a carrier oil like jojoba, coconut, or grapeseed before being applied to the hair or scalp.
An expert, Dr. Young, said ginger oil stimulates the scalp, “by improving microcirculation, nutrients and oxygen may reach hair follicles more effectively .
