Methodist Prelate urges leaders to adopt Gov Mbah’s security model

Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, has called on Nigerian leaders to adopt the security strategy of the Governor of Enugu state, Peter Mbah, describing it as a practical model for tackling insecurity and protecting lives and property.

He made the call on Easter Monday during a special Eucharistic service held at Wesley Cathedral to mark the 60th birthday of the Methodist Archbishop of Enugu, Christopher Ede and his twin brother, Hon. Peter Ede.

Speaking at the event, the Prelate commended Governor Mbah on his heavy investment in technology-driven security infrastructure, which he said, has significantly enhanced surveillance and rapid response capabilities in Enugu State.

He recounted a recent visit to the state’s Command and Control Centre, where he witnessed real-time monitoring systems covering various parts of the state.
According to Aba, the advanced facility demonstrated the governor’s commitment to proactive security management. He noted that such systems could help curb crime and improve safety if replicated across other states.

“”The other day, I visited the Command and Control Centre with the Governor, and what I saw was remarkable. The ability to monitor activities across the state in real time is a major step forward in securing lives and property,” he said.


The cleric commended Mbah for prioritising the welfare of citizens, adding that leaders who genuinely care about their people must place security at the forefront of governance.


In his remarks, Archbishop Ede expressed appreciation to the governor for attending the celebration, describing his presence as a sign of support and goodwill. He noted that the church remains committed to praying for and supporting leaders who promote peace and development.

Speaking, Governor Mbah, lauded Archbishop Ede and described as a symbol of humility, service, and excellence, noting that his life story serves as motivation for many. The governor highlighted his longstanding relationship with the cleric, recalling discussions on education, healthcare, and social services during his campaign period.

Governor Mbah,who also unveiled a book authored by the Archbishop titled “Start Well, Finish Strong: Leadership Principles for Ministers and Organisational Decision-Makers,” described the work as inspiring and impactful.

He lauded the Archbishop’s dedication to community development and poverty reduction, describing him as a worthy ambassador of Enugu State whose influence extends beyond regional boundaries.
