President of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA),. Nnanyelugo Onyemelukwe, has announced the 37th Enugu International Trade Fair, urging businesses, investors and the general public to take advantage of the platform to boost enterprise development and economic growth.
In a pre- trade fair press briefing held on Thursday at the ECCIMA Council Chamber, Enugu, Onyemelukwe said the annual fair remains one of the most important business and investment promotion events in Nigeria’s South-East region.

He said the 37th edition of the trade fair will hold from Saturday, March 21 to Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Enugu International Trade Fair Complex, located at Golf Course, GRA, along the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway, adding that the fair will be official declared open but the Governor of Enugu state ,Dr Peter Mbah on Tuesday 24Th March.
The ECCIMA president said the theme of this year’s fair is “Empowering MSMEs for Global Competitiveness”, noting that the theme reflects the chamber’s commitment to strengthening small and medium-scale enterprises so they can compete effectively in the global marketplace.
Onyemelukwe disclosed that preparations for the event began shortly after the conclusion of the 36th edition in 2025, adding that the chamber had made significant progress to ensure a successful outing.

He said the fair will provide an opportunity for businesses to assess Nigeria’s economic outlook, identify emerging opportunities and make informed investment decisions.
“My leadership was inaugurated on February 21, 2026, barely one month before the opening of the trade fair. Immediately after the inauguration, we introduced new ideas and strategies to improve the event and restore the glory of the Enugu International Trade Fair,” he said.
Onyemelukwe disclosed that the fair would feature several innovations, including a three-day business masterclass focusing on business growth, the use of Artificial Intelligence in MSMEs, and understanding tax compliance for entrepreneurs.
He also revealed that free transportation would be provided daily for visitors from major locations within Enugu, including Abakpa, Emene, Gariki and Holy Ghost, in order to encourage greater public participation.

Onyemelukwe added that corporate organisations and institutions have already shown strong interest in the event, with some companies beginning the construction and branding of their exhibition stands at the fair complex.
He further disclosed that the newly commissioned 3,000 square metre ECCIMA Premium Convention and Exhibition Hall, capable of accommodating more than 140 exhibitors, will be used for the first time during the fair.
According to him, the chamber is also prioritising agricultural development during the exhibition by encouraging investment in commercial farming and agro-allied industries to boost job creation and food security.

The ECCIMA president commended the Enugu State Government for maintaining a peaceful and secure environment for businesses, noting that previous editions of the trade fair had been conducted without security breaches.
He called on members of the media to continue supporting the chamber by widely publicising the event, stressing that the success of the fair largely depends on effective information dissemination.
Highlight of the event was the formal presentation of the brochure for the 37th Enugu International Trade Fair to the public .. The President urged busines owners and residents to actively participate in the event.
