Enugu’s Commissioner for works reaffirms commitment to staff development, Professionalism

Enugu state’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ben Okoh, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to continuous development of staff of the Ministry, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve service delivery.

He made this known during a Two-Day capacity building workshop for the staff of the ministry . He said structured plans have been put in place to ensure regular training and professional development for personnel.

“The Ministry remains committed to the continuous development of its staff. If we expect quality output, we must invest in capacity-building and professional growth. Training is essential for optimal performance and improved service delivery,” he said.

The Commissioner emphasised that the Civil Service operates within established rules, procedures, and standards of conduct. He stated that the Ministry will continue to organise capacity-building programmes as the need arises, to ensure that staff remain well-informed and properly equipped to function effectively within the Civil Service framework.

He also encouraged staff to take deliberate steps towards personal development by pursuing relevant self-improvement opportunities that complement their departmental responsibilities and strengthen their capacity to deliver.

Engr. Okoh assured staff of management’s support, noting that the Ministry will continue to provide the necessary tools, exposure, and capacity-building opportunities required to strengthen competence and improve overall performance. He added that the training reflects the Ministry’s commitment to building a professional, ethical, and future-ready public service.
