Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Pastor Beloved Dan Anike, has commended the Governor of Enugu state, Dr Peter Mbah for his good governance in the state and for the opportunity given to the people of Enugu East to interact with him on governance and development issues.
He gave the commendation, Thursday, after their meeting with the Governor in Government House,Enugu.
Speaking with Newsmen, Pastor Anike expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity, noting that the interaction demonstrated the administration’s commitment to inclusive leadership and people-oriented governance.
He said he was impressed by the way the people of Enugu East freely expressed themselves during the engagement. The Chairman also commended the governor for his administration ‘s policies and ongoing developmental initiatives across the state.
“I am happy with the way my people spoke and commended the governor on what he is doing. His policies are clear and impactful. I want to assure the governor that we at the grassroots will continue to copy what he is doing,” Anike said.
Describing the Enugu East Local Government as an “automated wagon,” Pastor Anike said the council was determined the align its programmes with the vision of the Mbah administration, stressing that as the speed of development increases at the state level, the local government would keep pace.
He said the engagement witnessed massive participation of key political stakeholders and community leaders in Enugu East, including former commissioners, past members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, traditional rulers and political leaders who have played active roles in the area since 1999.

According to him, the Anglican Bishop of Nike Diocese was also in attendance, alongside other prominent personalities, who expressed satisfaction with the performance of the local government administration while also pointing out areas where more efforts were needed.
“They expressed their satisfaction with what we are doing and also identified areas where we need to do more. We are for the people and nothing more,” Pastor Anike said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-centred governance and prayed for divine guidance to sustain and expand development initiatives in line with the governor’s vision for Enugu State.
