Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has attacked and dismantled major terrorists’ strongholds in Katsina state and thwarted a coordinated attempted attack by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP)/Boko Haram fighters on Chibok, following a series of precision airstrikes in Katsina and Borno states.
This was disclosed in a statement made available to Newsmen on Sunday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Ehimen Ejodame . He said the latest gains, executed under Operation FANSAN YAMMA in the North-West and Operation HADIN KAI in the North-East, were enabled by intelligence-led surveillance that guided fighter aircraft to their targets with pinpoint accuracy.
It explained that the first set of air interdictions, carried out on November 27, struck the fortified base of a notorious terrorist kingpin responsible for a string of kidnappings, deadly attacks, and cattle rustling across Kankara, Faskari, and Malumfashi.
“The first strike, launched at about 6:30 a.m., destroyed key structures and neutralised several fighters attempting to escape after surveillance platforms tracked their movements.
A second strike later in the evening hit another major hideout in Danfako, Faskari Local Government Area, wiping out logistics hubs and operational facilities used by the criminals.
“Several terrorists were killed, further weakening their network and denying them freedom of operation in the North-West,” the statement read.
NAF noted that in the North-East theatre, NAF aircraft provided decisive support to troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade when ISWAP/Boko Haram launched a multi-pronged attack on Chibok.

Air strikes in Katsina and Borno state Nigeria destroyed Terrorists’ strong hideouts.
It said four targeted airstrikes were conducted on regrouping and retreating insurgents, inflicting heavy losses and preventing the attackers from reorganising.
The Force noted that the integrated air–ground response ensured the insurgents were overwhelmed, averting what could have been a major security setback for the area and safeguarding residents.
The statement said the latest operations underline the Air Force’s growing emphasis on precision strikes aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities nationwide. He added that close coordination with ground troops would remain central to sustaining ongoing successes in both the North-West and North-East.
It also reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to restoring peace and stability across conflict-prone regions through sustained, intelligence-driven operations.
