Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Ben Nwoye, says the party has strengthened its grassroots presence across Enugu State ahead of the September 26, 2026 local government elections, expressing confidence that the party will win the 17 local government areas in the Saturday ‘s Local Government chairmanship election s
He said the APC is determined not only to participate in the local government elections but also to demonstrate its growing support at the grassroots.
“This is the first time at grassroots level, statewide, 260 wards, 17 LGAs, which we expect APC to not only participate but also to win,” he said.
Nwonye disclosed that national officers had been deployed to monitor the Enugu state local government elections . He urged members to remain organised, and come out to vote during the elections
Nwoye said the September 26 election would also form part of the party’s broader preparations for the 2027 general elections.
“We will see our support and we will send a message that APC has come to stay,” he said.
The APC chieftain also urged voters to remain vigilant, reject misinformation and actively participate in the electoral process to protect their votes.
The September 26 election will determine chairmen across Enugu’s 17 local government areas and councillors representing the state’s 260 wards.
