Enugu state police Command has launched manhunt for killers of a prominent Enugu politician Prince Ikechukwu Oloto, popularly known as “Okanga Mo,” Oloto aged 53, was reportedly hacked inside his residence on Thursday night.
Police Public Relations Officer,Enugu state Police Command , SP Daniel Ndukwe, who confirmed the incident to Newsmen on Friday in Enugu, said, Oloto’s remains had been deposited at a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
Ndukwe said police operatives received a report on Friday night, September 17, at about 5:45 p.m., that he had been found in a pool of blood in his residence in Nsukka.
“Police operatives promptly responded and found him with deep suspected machete cuts to his head and stomach.
“He was rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the attending doctor.
“His remains were deposited at a mortuary for preservation and autopsy,” he said.

The killing has generated concern in Nsukka, with details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the attack still unclear.
The police said the investigation would determine what led to the politician’s death and identify those responsible.
